Baekdu Mountain, KP

An active stratovolcano straddling the Chinese–North Korean border

Mount Baekdu, an active stratovolcano straddling the Chinese–North Korean border, features a caldera formed by a massive eruption in 946, which expelled approximately 100–120 km³ of tephra. Its cone's development was interrupted by two significant explosive events, Tianwenfeng and Millennium. The mountain is the origin of the Songhua, Tumen, and Yalu rivers.
