Bosporus Strait, TR
The Bosporus Strait is a natural
The Bosporus Strait is a natural waterway located in Turkey that straddles the city of Istanbul; the Black Sea deluge hypothesis postulates that the Bosporus was flooded around 5600 BC. This date was revised to 6800 BC in 2003. A house built on Galatasaray Island was constructed by the Armenian architect Sarkis Balyan. Sections of the shore of the Bosporus in Istanbul have been reinforced with concrete or rubble. Those sections of the strait prone to deposition are periodically dredged.
