Brandenburg Gate, DE
It was designed by Carl Gotthard Langhans
The Brandenburg Gate is an 18th-century neoclassical monument in Berlin, Germany. Built from 1788 to 1791 by King Frederick William II of Prussia, it was designed by Carl Gotthard Langhans. Its central portion reflects the tradition of Roman triumphal arches, yet it represents one of the first examples of Greek Revival architecture in Germany. After World War II, the Berlin Wall blocked the gate until its fall in 1989, making it a symbol of the city's division for nearly three decades.
