Illogan in 1935
Cornwall is a ceremonial county in South West England. The first written account of Cornwall dates to the 1st century BC, written by the Sicilian Greek historian Diodorus Siculus. A Roman-style villa was discovered at Magor Farm, Illogan in 1935. Roman roads reached into Cornwall, with four major Roman sites based on forts. The Cornish language became extinct as a living language by the end of the 18th century. Revival efforts began in the 19th century.
