Hadrian's Wall is a former defensive fortification of the Roman province of Britannia. Construction starting in 122. The wall was built by three Roman legions – the Legio II Augusta, Legio VI Victrix, and Legio XX Valeria Victrix. Hadrian's wish to keep 'intact the empire', which had been imposed on him via 'divine instruction'. The three specific units mentioned carried out the building work.
