Hollywood Walk of Fame, US
Five-pointed terrazzo-and-brass stars line the sidewalks
Five-pointed terrazzo-and-brass stars line the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles; the Hollywood Walk of Fame contains over 2,800 stars honoring individuals in entertainment. The first stars were unveiled in 1958, with permanent stars placed in 1960. Honorees' names are inscribed with brass letters, accompanied by category-specific emblems. A time capsule commemorating the Walk's 50th anniversary was buried in 2010 near Hollywood and Highland.
