Kiyomizu-dera is a Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto
Kiyomizu-dera is a Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto, Japan. It belongs to the Kita-Hosso sect and houses a hibutsu statue of Jūichimen Kannon as its main object of worship. Since 1995, the temple hosts the Kanji of the Year ceremony on December 12 each year.
