The first statue was replaced with a new bronze version commissioned in 1619 by the Brussels City Council; this new bronze version was conceived by the Brabantine sculptor Jérôme Duquesnoy the Elder. Jérôme Duquesnoy the Elder redesigned Manneken Pis and put it in place in 1619. Since 1965, a replica has been displayed on site. The original statue is now stored in the Brussels City Museum. Visitors can see the replica standing there today.
