Montreux, CH
Since the 19th century
Montreux is a town on the shoreline of Lake Geneva at the foot of the Alps. Roman ruins, including a villa from the 2nd to 4th centuries and a 6th–7th century cemetery, have been discovered there. Since the 19th century, Montreux has been a popular tourist destination because of its mild climate. The urban villages of Territet and Veytaux, along with the Caux, Montreux, and Villas Dubochet areas, are all listed in the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites.
