Ngorongoro Conservation Area, TZ

Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a protected region in northeastern Tanzania, situated within the Crater Highlands geological area. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Ngorongoro District, approximately 180 kilometers west of Arusha City; the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Ordinance of 1959 separated it from the Serengeti National Park. Initially, the first game reserves were established by Germans and permitted hunting activities. NCAA was established at the same time to manage the area, promoting its preservation as a multi-use protected zone.
