The Ostankino Tower is a television and radio tower located in Moscow, Russia, owned by the Moscow branch of the Russian TV and Radio Broadcasting Network. Construction began in 1959, resulting in the creation of a dedicated town for the project. The tower was designed by Nikolai Nikitin, Leonid Batalov, Dmitri Burdin, and Moisei Shkud. It was constructed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution.
