Pasargadae, IR

Alongside Ionian Greek building techniques

Pasargadae was founded in the 6th century BCE as the first capital of the Achaemenid Empire by Cyrus the Great. It served as the imperial capital until Darius the Great moved it to Persepolis. The architecture of Pasargadae incorporated elements of Elamite and Egyptian or Phoenician decoration, alongside Ionian Greek building techniques.
